Ameghino withdraws from the next Liga Argentina

Argentina's economy situation is creating tough times ahead for several teams in Liga Argentina, formerly known as TNA. As one of the main teams Atletico Juventud Florentino Ameghino this last seasons has officially withdrawn for the 2024-2025 season.

The reason for dropping down is due to the resignation of President Pablo Giraudo and the lack of Sponsors for the team, this added to the long distances and current situation in the country makes salaries and trips almost unnaffordable. So complicated is the situation that even teams such as Ciclista Juninense, Hispano Americano and Monmartre have doubts themselves over participating on the next season.

The official announcement said: "From the Florentino Ameghino club we inform that after 10 years of continuous growth and fullfilled dreams, we have decided to officially withdraw from the next Liga Argentina and from the Female La liga Basquet League, so some team can take our spot."

Ameghino has spent 7 seasons in a row in Liga Argentina and has even reached playoff Finals in 22-23 season. Also on the female Liga nacional has reached semifinals in 2024. It will surely a missed team on the upcoming seasons.
