Spar Gran Canaria (LF Endesa) signed 31-year-old Argentinian international 166cm point guard Melisa Gretter for the upcoming season. She is the second foreign player in the roster, with USA's Nneka Ezeigbo having signed earlier. Gretter most recently played at Unisociesc/Blumenau in the Brazilian LBF league. In 9 LBP games she played last season, she averaged 10.3ppg, 7.8rpg, 8.8apg, and 1.8spg. Prior to that, she played at Araski.
She has been a member of the Argentinian international program for some years. She has regularly played for the Argentinian senior team since 2011 and previously for the University National Team in 2017.
Gretter also represented Argentina at the FIBA South American Women's Championship in San Luis (Argentina) two years ago. Gretter's team won Silver and she had almost 5 ppg and she was 1st best passer with almost 8 assists per game.
She has also played professionally in Argentina (Union Florida, Ben Hur, and Santa Fe), Brazil (Corinthians, Sampaio, and Vera Cruz), and Spain (Estudiantes and Casablanca).
Among many awards, her team was the regular season runner-up in the Brazilian LBF in 2023. Gretter was also voted to the Latinbasket.com All-Brazilian LBF Guard of the Year back in 2019.
