Union de Mar del Plata adds some new pieces to their roster- August 4, 2024Union de Mar del Plata has started moving in the market adding some new faces for the upcoming season of Liga Argentina. After last season’s coach Ezequiel Santiago Medina signed to Quilmes, Union has chosen Fernando Rivero to take the lead for 2024-25 season. Rivero last coached Venados de Mazatlan on Mexico’s Cibacopa, but also has extensive experience in Argentina where he has won LNB season in 2011 and 2014 as assistant coach and got the promotion from former TNA (now Liga Argentina) to LNB on 2017 for Comunicaciones Mercedes as Head Coach. The list of player signings include 4 new players and 1 renewal, Here the list of confirmations for next season: - Juan Ignacio Varas was the first confirmation of the team, a renewal from last season and a historic player for Union, having played more than 1000 games on the professional team (Including TFB and Liga Argentina). - Marco Risso (190-G/F-2001) arrives from Gimnasia de La Plata where last season averaged 8.1 ppg, 4.3 rpg and 2.8 apg in 24 games with 44.3% FG and 80.3% 3PT. This will be Risso’s third different team on Liga Argentina. - Alejo Britos (187-G-1994) is currently playing for san Antonio gold in Ecuador LBP, and before that he played in Ciclista Juninense where his averages were 12.2 ppg, 2.7 rpg and 2.8 apg in 28 games with a 40.9% 3PT and 75.3% FT. - Luciano Tambucci (194-PF-1998) will have his 6th straight season playing in Liga Argentina and also hi 6th team, he comes from Deportivo Viedma, where he averaged 10.2 ppg, 3.4 rpg and 0.6 apg in 36 games with a 62% FG and 39.6% 3PT. - Jeronimo Barrionuevo (205-C): A Young center who will play his third season on Liga Argentina after playing for Quilmes and Jachal, on his last team he averaged 6.8 ppg, 3.4 rpg and 0.7 apg in 19 games. |
