Boca lands Andres Ibarguen, ex Carrib.Storm

Andres Ibarguen

Defending champion Boca Juniors Buenos Aires (La Liga) signed 28-year-old Colombian international 200cm forward Andres Ibarguen (college: Angelo State, agency: Helping Ballers) for the new season. He was the top rebounder at Carrib.Storm in the Colombian Liga Wplay last season, where he averaged 14.9ppg and 9.4rpg in 22 games he recently played. Ibarguen helped Carrib.Storm win the regular season and reach the semifinals. Last season, he played for Riachuelo de La Rioja.
Ibarguen has also been a member of the Colombian international program for some years. He has regularly played for the Colombian senior team since 2014 and previously for the Under 17 National Team back in 2013.
Ibarguen also represented Colombia at the FIBA World Cup 2023 Americas Qualifiers last year. During this event he scored an average of 13.3 ppg and had 8.6 rpg.
He is a very experienced player, thanks to pro basketball he experienced life in five different countries playing on three different continents. Ibarguen is familiar with European, Latin American and of course North American leagues. He has played previously professionally in Brazil (Flamengo), Holland (Yoast United), Spain (Prat) and Uruguay (Trouville).
Ibarguen graduated from Angelo State in 2020 and it will be his fifth season in pro basketball. He played for other colleges such as University of Texas at Arlington and Trinity Valley Community College.
