La Union Formosa (La Liga) signed 32-year-old American 196cm swingman Jay Bowie (college: Marist, agency: Elevate Sports Alliance) for the upcoming season. He last played for Spartans in the Ecuadorian Liga Basquet Pro.
He is a very experienced player. Bowie has quite traveled the world as his pro career brought him to four different continents (Europe, Asia, Australia and of course North America). He has played previously professionally in Australia (Tigers, Giants, Magic and Lightning), Indonesia (Bali United), United Kingdom (Scorchers) and NBA G League (Delaware Blue Coats).
His team finished as the runner-up in the regular season of the Australian NBL1 in 2021.
Bowie graduated from Marist College in 2014 and it will be his 11th season in pro basketball.
