Argentinian LDD round 14 best performance: Marcos Chacon

Cuban Swingman Marcos Chacon (194-F/G-2003) had a great game in the last round for Gimnasia y Esgrima Comodoro Rivadavia, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 14.
The 21-year old player was the main contributor (27 points, nine rebounds and two assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat San Martin (#20, 1-9) 76-68. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings. Gimnasia maintains the 19th position in Argentinian LDD. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked such low. They already lost 8 games and recorded just one victory. In the team's last game Chacon had a remarkable 58.3% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Gimnasia, through which he has constantly improved. Marcos Chacon averages just after three games 14.0ppg and 5.3rpg.

The second best player in last round's games was young Mateo Rearte (2006) of San Martin Corrientes. Rearte had a very good evening with a double-double of 21 points and 14 rebounds. Bad luck as San Martin lost that game 68-76 to slightly higher-ranked Gimnasia (#19, 1-8). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. San Martin is still at the dead bottom 20th position. 9 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory San Martin managed to get this year. Rearte is a newcomer at San Martin, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.9ppg (#4). He also registered 7.1 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was forward Tiziano Prome (201-F-2005) of Boca Juniors Buenos Aires (#6). Prome scored 22 points and passed 4 assists. He was a key player of Boca, leading his team to a 80-70 win against slightly higher-ranked Ferro (#5, 7-4). Boca needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 7 victories and 7 lost games. Prome has a very solid season. In 13 games in Argentina he scored 16.3ppg. He also has 6.2rpg, 1.2bpg and a FGP of 59.6%.
