Candela Gentinetta claims Argentinian LaLiga Femenina Hoops Agents weekly honour

International Candela Gentinetta (181-SF-2001) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's leader Obras Basket Buenos Aires and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 1 (Second Stage).
The 23-year old had the game-high 24 points adding nine rebounds and two assists for Obras in her team's victory, helping them to edge out Union Florida (#3, 0-3), Second Stage bottom-ranked team 69-65. It allowed Obras to consolidate first place in the Argentinian LaLiga Femenina. The season is still on an early stage, but Obras already had a very good start winning all 4 without losing a single one. In the team's last game Gentinetta had a remarkable 61.5% from 2-point range. It's her second year at Obras and it's hard to imagine this team without her. Gentinetta has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in rebounds (2nd best: 10.2rpg) and assists (8th best: 2.9apg).

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young point guard Aldana Duarte (162-PG-1996) of Montmartre de Catamarca. Duarte impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 23 points and 10 rebounds. Bad luck as Montmartre lost that game 65-73 to Quimsa (4-1). The Second Stage is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Duarte is a newcomer at Montmartre and it seems she did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 15.2ppg (#4). She also registered 8.1 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was Lorena Campos (171-G/F-1999) of second-ranked Quimsa de Santiago del Estero. Campos scored 25 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. She was a key player of Quimsa, leading her team to a 65-62 win against #3 ranked Chanares in a game of the week. Quimsa is closer and closer to top of the standings in Group B. They will still need more victories. But 4-1 record is not that bad... The season just started for Campos as she played only first game. But it already looks like she can be team's leader.
