Argentinian LaLiga Femenina round 3 (Second Stage) best performance: Florencia Fernandez (by Hoops Agents)

International Center Florencia Fernandez (189-C-1986) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for top-ranked Ferrocarril Oeste Buenos Aires, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 3 (Second Stage).
The 38-year old player was the main contributor (20 points, four rebounds) to her team's victory, helping them to beat Obras (#2, 4-1) 68-56. It allowed Ferro to take over top position in the Argentinian LaLiga Femenina. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Ferro already had a very good start winning all 4 without losing a single one. It's Fernandez's second year at Ferro and it's hard to imagine this team without her. Florencia Fernandez has solid league stats. She is in league's top in points (9th best: 20.0ppg), rebounds (8th best: 17.0rpg), assists (2nd best: 1.0apg) and averages impressive 2.0bpg and 54.5% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young Sofia Acevedo (167-PG-2001) of Group A leader Club Deportivo de Berazategui Buenos Aires. Acevedo had a very good evening with 28 points and 4 rebounds. It was enough for Berazategui to edge El Talar (4-1) 55-53. A very good start of the Second Stage for her team, which won so far all 4 games without any defeat. Acevedo is a newcomer at Berazategui, but is already one of team's top players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 15.4ppg (#4).

Third on the list of top players last round was international Candela Gentinetta (181-SF-2001) of league's second-best Obras Basket Buenos Aires. Gentinetta scored 15 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Despite Gentinetta's great performance the Obras lost 56-68 to #1 ranked Ferro. But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. Obras had another "accident". It may be a crucial game. Gentinetta's teammates are also very good. That's why having such high stats is even more impressive. Gentinetta has a great season in Argentina. After 13 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 9.9rpg (2nd best) and assists with 2.9apg (9th best).
