There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in LaLiga Femenina. Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Instituto (7-2) in Cordoba on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by fourth ranked Quimsa (5-3) 74-68. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Instituto. Quimsa forced 23 Instituto turnovers. It was a great evening for swingman Lorena Campos (171-1999) who led her team to a victory scoring 15 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 7 steals. point guard Agostina Leguizamon (164-2000) helped adding 16 points and 5 rebounds. The former international power forward Giselle Botta (180-1999) responded with 15 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Quimsa maintains fourth place with 5-3 record. Instituto at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
Very important is a road loss of third ranked Union Florida (8-5) against eighth ranked Avellaneda (2-8) on Sunday night. Visiting Union Florida was defeated by Avellaneda in a tough game on the road 61-68. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Sofia Gonzalez (173, college: Tufts) who led the winners and scored 20 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. Natasha Spiatta accounted for 18 points and 7 rebounds. The former international forward Carla Miculka (174-1993) came up with 13 points and 8 rebounds for Union Florida in the defeat. Avellaneda maintains eighth place with 2-8 record. Union Florida at the other side keeps the third position with five games lost. Avellaneda will play against league's leader Obras in Buenos Aires in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Union Florida will have a break next round.

They maintain second place with 10-2 record having just 3 victories less than leader Obras. El Talar lost third consecutive game. Defending champion keeps the fourth position with six games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 11: Union Florida destroyed Rocamora on the opponent's court 72-52. Chanares unfortunately lost to Gorriones in a home game 45-61. Obras rolled over Rocamora on the road 75-51. Berazategui lost to defending champion El Talar on its own court 76-88.

Rocamora - Union Florida 52-72

Rather expected game in Concepcion de Urug. where 6th ranked Rocamora (4-9) was crushed by third ranked Union Florida (8-5) 72-52 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Carla Miculka (174-1993) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds. Guard Giuliana Baccarelli (165-2004) chipped in 15 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Paula Santini (165-2006) produced 20 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Antonella Gonzalez (155-1990) added 7 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Union Florida maintains third place with 8-5 record having just five point less than leader Obras. Loser Rocamora keeps the sixth position with nine games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

The former international center Florencia Fernandez (189-1986) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Four Ferro players scored in double figures. The best player for the winners was Lucia Pispieiro who scored 16 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Bolivian Romina Moreira (-1999) chipped in 4 points and 8 rebounds. Marilina Banegas produced 9 points and 5 rebounds and Macarena Galindez added 8 points respectively for the hosts. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Gorriones moved-up to second place. Loser Chanares keeps the fifth position with six games lost. Gorriones will meet at home Riachuelo (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day.
