Center Julia Fernandez (185-C-2004) had a great game in the last round for second-ranked Ferrocarril Oeste Buenos Aires, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 14.
The 20-year old player was the main contributor (14 points, eight rebounds and four assists) to her team's victory, helping them to crush Lanus (#7, 3-11) with 21-point margin 80-59. Ferro maintains the 2nd position in their group in the Argentinian LaLiga Femenina. They are still close to the very top. Ferro would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 12-2 record. It was one of impressive evenings for Fernandez as usually she does not deliver so high stats. Julia Fernandez has solid league stats. She is in league's top in points (6th best: 10.0ppg), assists (2nd best: 2.0apg) and averages impressive 57.1% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young international Natasha Spiatta (177-SF-1992) of Nautico Avellaneda Rosario. Spiatta had a very good evening with 23 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists. Bad luck as Avellaneda was edged by the higher-ranked El Talar (#4, 8-6) 69-66. Avellaneda managed to keep the same 8th spot in South. 12 lost games are too many comparing to just two victories Avellaneda managed to get this year. Spiatta is a newcomer at Avellaneda, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Ferro's star - international center Florencia Fernandez (189-C-1986). Fernandez scored 16 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. She was another key player of Ferrocarril Oeste Buenos Aires, helping her team with a 80-59 easy win against the lower-ranked Lanus (#7, 3-11). Ferro is closer and closer to top of the standings in South. They will still need more victories. But 12-2 record is not that bad... The season just started for Fernandez as she played only first game. But it already looks like she can be another team's leader.
