Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

Bottom-ranked Argentino managed to get a fifth victory, breaking the seven-game losing streak on Friday night. This time they won against nineteenth-ranked Zarate in Junin 81-73. Worth to mention a great performance of Mexican swingman Manuel Hernandez (193-1991) who helped to win the game recording 33 points (!!!) and naturalized American Johnatan Slider (192-1987) who added 13 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Edgar Merchant (200-2002) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds. Zarate's coach Juan Anglese rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Argentino maintains twentieth position with 5-21 record. Zarate lost third consecutive game. They keep the nineteenth place with 16 games lost. Argentino will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Zarate will play at home against Gimnasia (#11) and is hoping to win this game.
An interesting game took place in Cordoba where higher ranked Instituto (14-9) was upset on its own court by sixteenth ranked Independ.O. (10-17) 101-96. The winners were led by forward Patricio Tabarez (195-1991) who scored that evening 23 points and 6 rebounds and Rolando Vallejos supported him with 21 points. Even 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) by the former international forward Bautista Lugarini (203-2001) did not help to save the game for Instituto. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Independ.O. have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain sixteenth position with 10-17 record. Instituto at the other side dropped to the seventh place with nine games lost. Independ.O. will play against higher ranked Gimnasia (#11) in Comodoro Rivadavia in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Instituto's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Cordoba Atenas.
Eleventh ranked Olimpico (14-13) crushed at home 15th ranked San Lorenzo (11-14) by 23 points 95-72, which is the biggest margin this round on Sunday night. Dischon Thomas fired 14 points for the winners. Olimpico's coach Adrian Capelli felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Franco Alorda produced 10 points and 9 rebounds for lost side. Olimpico moved-up to ninth place. San Lorenzo lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifteenth position with 14 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 28: La Union lost to Obras on the opponent's court 77-85. Obera managed to outperform San Martin in a home game 74-70. San Lorenzo recorded a loss to Riachuelo on the road 90-77. Gimnasia defeated La Union on its own court 86-79. San Martin was beaten by Union in Santa Fe 79-74. Zarate lost to La Union at home 70-78. San Lorenzo unfortunately lost to Quimsa on the opponent's court 79-96. Regatas managed to beat Platense in a home game 94-81.

Obras - La Union 85-77

Very expected game in Buenos Aires where 18th ranked La Union (9-17) was defeated by second ranked Obras (18-8) 85-77 on Thursday. The former international point guard Pedro Barral (187-1994) chipped in 11 points and 9 assists. Forward Rodrigo Sanchez (200-1989) produced 16 points and 8 rebounds and American power forward DeMarco Owens (203-1996, college: Montevallo) added 10 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four La Union players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Obras maintains second position with 18-8 record having just two point less than leader Boca. La Union lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the seventeenth place with 17 games lost. Obras' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Buenos Aires Boca.
