Fabricio Diaz claims Argentinian LDD Hoops Agents weekly honour

Talented Fabricio Diaz (205-C-2006) had an amazing evening in the last round for Riachuelo de La Rioja and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 36.
The 18-year old center had a double-double of 21 points and 13 rebounds, while his team beat Boca Jrs. (#14, 10-14) 93-79. Riachuelo maintains the 7th position in Argentinian LDD. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Riachuelo will need more victories to improve their 18-7 record. In the team's last game Diaz had a remarkable 71.4% from 2-point range. He turned to be Riachuelo's top player in his first season with the team. Diaz has impressive league stats. He leads league in rebounds with 11.0rpg. Diaz is in league's top in and averages solid 67.2% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was Nestor Gonzalez) of Quimsa Santiago del Estero. Gonzalez impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 24 points and 16 rebounds. Bad luck as Quimsa lost that game 74-81 to the higher-ranked Boca Jrs. (#14, 10-14). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Quimsa keeps 18th position. 24 lost games are too many comparing to just five victories Quimsa managed to get this year. Gonzalez is a newcomer at Quimsa and despite he is not a team leader yet, every game he becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often.

The third best performed player last round was another Quimsa's star - Matias Pikaluk (188-G-2006). Pikaluk showcased his all-around game by recording 29 points, 12 rebounds (!!!) and 5 assists in the last round. Despite Pikaluk's great performance the Quimsa Santiago del Estero lost 74-81 to the higher-ranked Boca Jrs. (#14, 10-14). But his team cannot count on just these two top stars as they also need help of the other teammates. Quimsa can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 5-24 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Pikaluk has a very solid season. In 27 games in Argentina he scored 15.5ppg.

10. Jorge Garcia (200-F-2003) of Independ.O. - 18 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists
