Argentinian La Liga round 31 best performance: Chris Clarke

American Forward Chris Clarke (196-F-1996, agency: Interperformances) had an amazing evening in the last round for Obras Basket Buenos Aires, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 31.
The 28-year old player had a double-double of 27 points and 16 rebounds, while his team in a lost game to Atenas (#10, 15-13) 76-83. Obras moved-up to the 4th position in Argentinian La Liga. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Obras will need to avoid more loses keep or improve their 18-11 record. In the team's last game Clarke had a remarkable 77.8% from 2-point range. He turned to be Obras' top player in his first season with the team. Former Texas Tech University star has very solid stats this year. Clarke is in league's top in points (3rd best: 16.9ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 10.1rpg) and averages impressive 63.8% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young international Leonardo Lema (203-SF-1998) of Atenas Cordoba. Lema had a very good evening with a double-double of 23 points and 12 rebounds. Of course Atenas cruised to a 83-76 relatively comfortable win over the higher-ranked Obras (#4, 18-11). This victory allowed Atenas to move up to 10th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 15-13 record is not bad and everything may still change. Lema is a newcomer at Atenas, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Reginald Buckner (206-F/C-1991) of league's second-best Riachuelo de La Rioja. Buckner scored 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. He was a key player of Riachuelo, leading his team to a 86-69 easy win against the lower-ranked Argentino (#20, 5-23). Riachuelo needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 19 victories and 8 lost games. Buckner has a great season in Argentina. After 24 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 7.2rpg (8th best).
