The game between third ranked Riachuelo (19-9) and tenth ranked San Martin (17-15) was the most important one in the last round on Friday night. Riachuelo was defeated by San Martin in a tough game in Corrientes 68-74. San Martin outrebounded Riachuelo 46-34 including a 14-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. 25 personal fouls committed by Riachuelo helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for point guard Gaston Garcia (187-1998) who led his team to a victory with 13 points and 6 rebounds. Naturalized Italian Vicente Garello (203-1997, agency: BIG) contributed with 9 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. point guard Juan Corbalan (185-1998) answered with 18 points for Riachuelo. La Liga top team - Boca (21-7) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat fifth ranked Obera (19-12) in Buenos Aires 87-77. The former international forward Facundo Pinero (202-1988) stepped up and scored 14 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and Martin Cuello chipped in 17 points and 6 assists. The best for the losing side was the former international Agustin Barreiro (205-1999) with 23 points and 8 rebounds. Boca have a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 21-7 record. Obera at the other side dropped to the fourth position with 12 games lost. Boca will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Obera will play at home against Union (#8) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Fifteenth-ranked San Lorenzo (12-16) used its home court advantage to challenge fifth ranked Obera (19-12) in Almagro on Thursday. The visitors from Obera managed to secure only one-point victory 86-85. However their fans expected much easier game. Will Vorhees nailed 20 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. Ivan Basualdo came up with 8 points, 19 rebounds and 9 assists for San Lorenzo in the defeat. Obera moved-up to fourth place. Loser San Lorenzo keeps the fifteenth position with 16 games lost. Obera will meet at home Union (#8) in the next round. San Lorenzo will play against Regatas (#10) in Corrientes and hope to secure a win.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 33: Olimpico smashed Zarate on the road 92-60. Union lost to Ferro on its own court 85-89. Independ.O. unfortunately lost to Quimsa in Santiado del Estero 99-107. Penarol managed to beat Instituto at home 89-71. Independ.O. defeated Olimpico on the opponent's court 102-97. Ferro beat Platense in a home game 92-82.
The most impressive performance of 33th round was 23 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists by Alejandro Diez of Ferro.



Zarate - Olimpico 60-92

No shocking result in a game when twelfth ranked Olimpico (15-15) crushed on the road 19th ranked Zarate (7-21) 92-60 on Tuesday. American forward Dischon Thomas (206-2000, college: Montana) nailed 23 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) for the winning side and swingman Julian Morales (195-1995) accounted for 21 points and 5 rebounds. Four Olimpico players scored in double figures. Olimpico's coach Adrian Capelli felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Edgar Merchant (200-2002) came up with 15 points and 8 rebounds and American center Avery Diggs (208-1998, college: Chattanooga, agency: Players Group) added 10 points respectively for Zarate in the defeat. Olimpico maintains twelfth place with 15-15 record. Zarate lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the nineteenth position with 21 games lost. Olimpico will meet at home higher ranked Obras (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Zarate will play against Independ.O.
