Nicolas Romano claims Argentinian La Liga Hoops Agents weekly honour

Experienced International Guard Nicolas Romano (200-G-1987) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's second-best Quimsa Santiago del Estero and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 41.
The 37-year old guard had the game-high 21 points adding seven rebounds for Quimsa in his team's victory, helping them to edge out Riachuelo LR (#6, 22-13) 99-97. Quimsa maintains the 2nd position in Argentinian La Liga. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Quimsa will need more victories to improve their 26-12 record. It was one of impressive evenings for Romano as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Nicolas Romano averages this season 11.0ppg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American power forward Reginald Buckner (206-F/C-1991) of Riachuelo de La Rioja. Buckner impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 19 points and 12 rebounds. It was enough for Riachuelo to edge slightly lower-ranked Gimnasia (#7, 20-17) by 4 points 77-73. Despite this victory Riachuelo slide down in the standings to 6th position. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 22-13 record is not bad and everything may still change. Buckner is a newcomer at Riachuelo and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was another Riachuelo LR's star - Juan Corbalan (185-PG-1998). Corbalan got into 30-points club by scoring 31 points in the last round. He went also for four assists. Despite Corbalan's great performance the Riachuelo de La Rioja lost 97-99 to the higher-ranked Quimsa (#2, 26-12). But his team cannot count on just these two top stars as they also need help of the other teammates. The last thing Riachuelo needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 22 victories and 13 lost games. Corbalan has a very solid season. In 35 games in Argentina he scored 15.0ppg.

10. Jose Vildoza (191-PG-1996) of Boca - 8 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists
