La Liga Round 42 (Regular Season): Obera defeat Instituto in the game between Top 4 teams

There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in La Liga. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

An interesting game for Obera (24-12) which played road game in Cordoba against their close opponent Instituto (22-12). Third ranked Obera managed to get a 12-point victory 86-74. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Instituto. It was a good game for Agustin Brocal (191-1997) who led his team to a victory with 31 points (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). The former international Agustin Barreiro (205-1999) contributed with 19 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. The former international forward Bautista Lugarini (203-2001) replied with 12 points and 9 rebounds for Instituto. Instituto's coach Lucas Victoriano rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Obera have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 24-12 record having just one point less than leader Boca. Instituto at the other side dropped to the fifth place with 12 games lost. Obera are looking forward to face Atenas (#9) in Cordoba in the next round where they are favorite. Instituto will play on the road against the league's leader Boca (#1) in Buenos Aires and is hoping to win this game.
Worth to mention about the upset in a game between Riachuelo (22-14) and Ferro (18-18), which took place in Buenos Aires. Higher ranked Riachuelo lost to twelfth ranked Ferro in a road game 80-90. Point guard Emiliano Lezcano (187-2001) scored 25 points to lead the charge for the winners and Rodrigo Gallegos chipped in 15 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was naturalized Dominican forward Xavier Carreras (198-1994) with 19 points and 7 rebounds. Riachuelo LR's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Ferro have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to eleventh place. Riachuelo at the other side keeps the sixth position with 14 games lost. Ferro will play against higher ranked Gimnasia (#7) in Comodoro Rivadavia in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Riachuelo will play on the road against Zarate and hopes to get back on the winning track.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 42: Obras beat Argentino on the road 76-64. La Union lost to Olimpico on its own court 88-102. Obera managed to outperform Independ.O. in a road game 93-84.



Regatas - Olimpico 98-74

The game between ninth ranked Regatas (20-18) and 15th ranked Olimpico (17-21) in Corrientes on Monday ended with biggest points difference. Regatas outscored guests from La Banda 98-74. Regatas dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Olimpico's 30. They outrebounded Olimpico 43-20 including a 32-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Regatas shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 51.9 percentage. Point guard Andres Jaime (184-2000) notched 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and the former international forward Claudio Ramirez (200-1990) supported him with 15 points and 7 rebounds.
