Basketball’s reach has never been wider, and South America is starting to find its voice in the NBA. It’s not churning out talent like Europe or Africa just yet, but the region is showing real signs of progress. More and more players are bringing something different — a mix of fight, flair, and fundamentals — and as we head into the 2025/26 season, a few names stand out as ones to watch.

Facundo Campazzo: The Veteran Trying for One More Shot

Facundo Campazzo isn’t new to the NBA scene. The Argentine guard had a stint with Denver, where he showed flashes — slick passing, smart decisions, and that gritty, unselfish style people back home love him for. But things didn’t quite stick. Denver’s loaded with talent, and Campazzo isn’t expected to carry the team. But in those tight playoff moments, having someone like him — steady, experienced, tough — could be a real asset.

And that's what's making the chances for Denver alive and appearing on the scoreboard and betting predictions. Just like Campazzo knows when and where to play, Charlie Pearson knows where to place your bets in his article, allowing fans to take advantage of the best odds and bet on Denver and other teams during the playoffs and finals. And while Campazzo won’t be the headline, he might be the guy who saves a few possessions when it really counts.

Bruno Caboclo: A Rebuilt Star

Some players have it smooth; others are like Bruno Caboclo. It's pressure that makes diamonds, and Bruno's time under the press is, apparently, finally done, as he landed in Toronto with a clean slate. The Raptor overhaul is nearly done, and the team has infused itself with fresh blood. Caboclo is large, defensive, and can jump from one end of the court to another. Bruno, Valentin Duvanced, and other talent from Argentina are proof that it's a fertile land of basketball

While he may be big, it's the little things he does that count. Block a shot or two. Connect a three-shot. Block and grab the ball at a crucial point. Protect a rebound. These will not make headlines, but they will contribute to the Toronto standings. While he isn't an all-star, he is a contributor, and these are what make a team tick. And Toronto could finally run like clockwork.

Gabriel Deck: New Hope for New Orleans

From Argentina to Oklahoma, Gabriel made landfall in New Orleans, hopefully for the foreseeable future. His NBA profile is shy, deprived of attention, and maybe a bit stealthy. Which is his secret weapon. Many underestimate him, which gives him an edge. The New Orleans team is hungry for those like him and more.

Deck is smart, low-profile, and moves well. He commands the ball, and it obeys, knocking down open shots. The Pelicans, at the moment, have all the pieces for greatness, but they need something that will bring them together. A talent glue and players that keep their play and the team together. And Deck could be the one, settling into New Orleans, his team, and defending against the chaos on court.

Leandro Bolmaro: Still Waiting for the Right Break

Leandro Bolmaro is talented — that’s never really been in question. The Argentine guard was drafted and became a point guard with a lot of promise, and he’s shown real potential in bursts. But in Minnesota, with a crowded backcourt and no shortage of ball-handlers, it’s been tough to get minutes.

This season might not be make-or-break, but it’s getting close. Bolmaro has the tools — passing vision, defensive effort, a developing jumper — but he needs a situation where he can actually play through mistakes. The Timberwolves are a team that seems stuck between being good and being great, and maybe a fresh injection of energy from someone like Bolmaro is what they need. Then again, maybe he just needs a change of scenery. Either way, this season could tell us a lot.
