Club Atletico Platense Florida (La Liga) signed 27-year-old American 201cm forward Johnny Hughes III (college: UIW). He last played for Richards Elite (The Basketball Tournament) in the U.S.
He is a very experienced player, thanks to pro basketball he experienced life in five different countries playing on three different continents. Hughes is familiar with European, Latin American and of course North American leagues. He has played professionally in Canada (Rattlers), Cyprus, Estonia (Tartu), Luxembourg (T71 Dudelange) and Mexico (Santos, Caballeros de Culiacan and Angeles).
His team reached the Conference Carolinas Tournament Semifinals in 2021.
Hughes graduated from the University of Incarnate Word in 2022, and it will be his fourth season in pro basketball. He played for other colleges such as the University of Mount Olive and Fayetteville Tech Community College.
