From 2015 to 2025, a group of standout Latin American players made their mark in European basketball. They didn’t just show up. They led their teams to league titles, EuroLeague finals, and historic moments. These players brought their trademark intensity and skill to a different style of basketball and earned respect from fans, coaches, and teammates across the continent.

European basketball has been drawing more attention from global audiences in recent years. Even betting platforms like GamesHub are finding fans from all over, while also offering insights for those interested in the sports betting side of the game. It’s another sign that international basketball has grown beyond its old borders.

Facundo Campazzo (Argentina)

Campazzo became a fan favorite at Real Madrid for good reason. After arriving from Argentina, he became the team’s engine on both ends of the floor. With Real, he won multiple Spanish league titles and EuroLeague championships in 2015 and 2018. Even after a brief stop in the NBA, he returned to Madrid and picked up right where he left off.
Campazzo had to adjust to the slower, more physical European game. In Argentina, he thrived in fast-paced systems, but Spain demanded patience, smarter spacing, and more off-ball movement. He made that adjustment and thrived, becoming a leader on a team packed with talent.

Luca Vildoza (Argentina)

Vildoza made a name for himself at Baskonia, where he helped the club win the Spanish league in 2020. He later played with top teams like Crvena Zvezda and Panathinaikos, where he won domestic titles in both Serbia and Greece. His style meshed well with European systems. Vildoza became known for his defensive focus and timely shooting. He was never flashy, but his reliability in big moments stood out.

Gabriel Deck (Argentina)

Deck joined Real Madrid in 2018 and quickly became one of their most reliable players. He played a huge role in Madrid’s 2023 EuroLeague title and helped the club maintain its spot as one of Europe’s elite. His stats don’t always jump off the page, but he brought consistency, averaging double figures in points and making key defensive plays when it mattered. He had to build on his natural physical style by improving his shooting and understanding spacing within half-court sets. That work paid off, and Deck became someone Madrid could count on every night.

Marcelo Huertas (Brazil)

Huertas was already well known before 2015, but what stands out is how long he stayed at the top. From 2015 through 2025, he was one of the best playmakers in Spain’s Liga ACB. Playing with CB Canarias, he led the league in assists multiple times and won the MVP award in 2025, at the age of 42. He didn’t rely on speed. Instead, he read the game better than anyone else on the floor. With sharp passing and steady leadership, he remained valuable deep into his career.

Leandro Bolmaro (Argentina)

Bolmaro started at FC Barcelona, had a stint in the NBA, and then came back to Europe with Bayern Munich. In 2024, he helped Bayern win the German league and soon after moved to Olimpia Milano. He brought defensive toughness, improved shooting, and a willingness to play any role. His growth showed that Latin American players are ready not just to play in Europe but to contribute at the highest levels.

These five players didn’t all take the same path, but they each found success by committing to the demands of European basketball. The game is slower and more tactical than in the Americas, and adjusting takes time. Each of them refined their game, learned to operate within different systems, and helped their teams win.

Whether in Madrid, Belgrade, Munich, or Milan, they became trusted pieces on championship-level teams. In doing so, they’ve helped open more doors for the next generation of Latin American players hoping to do the same.
