This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 5th ranked Boca Jrs (2-2) to top-ranked Instituto (4-0) 69-67 on Tuesday evening. Instituto forced 21 Boca Jrs. turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of who helped to win the game recording 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and who added 16 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Instituto's coach Ignacio Giambartolomei used entire bench in such tough game. At the losing side guard Tiago Drocezesky (193-2005) responded with 26 points and 7 rebounds. Instituto have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 4-0 record. Boca Jrs. at the other side dropped to the eighth place with two games lost. They share the position with Regatas. Instituto are looking forward to face Penarol (#12) in Mar del Plata in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Boca Jrs. will play on the road against Atenas (#13) in Cordoba and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
Important game to mention about took place in Obera. Top-ranked La Union (3-0) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging bottom-ranked Obera (0-2) 75-74 on Wednesday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The winners were led by who scored that evening 23 points and 4 assists and Franco Gimenez supported him with 24 points and 4 steals. Even 21 points by Maximo Koziarski did not help to save the game for Obera. Obera's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. La Union have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 3-0 record having just two point less than leader Instituto, which they share with Obras. Obera at the other side still closes the standings with two games lost. La Union will play against Union (#15) in Santa Fe in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Obera will play at home against Union and hopes to get finally their first victory.
Racing Ch. has registered their first victory this season after two consecutive losses. The win is especially important as they defeated much higher ranked Atenas (1-3) 84-72 on Monday. Joaquin Capurro fired 13 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals for the winners. Racing Ch.'s coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tiago Tomatis produced 23 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Racing Ch. (1-2) left bottom position moving up to eleventh place. It was Atenas' third loss in a row. They keep the twelfth position with three games lost. They share it with Quimsa and Penarol. Racing Ch. will meet at home higher ranked Obras (#3) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Atenas will play against Boca Jrs. (#8) and hope to win that game.
There were no shocking results in the other games in round 4: Quimsa lost to Obras on the opponent's court 57-76. Penarol managed to outperform Quimsa in a home game 71-68. Olimpico lost to Obras on the road 55-118. Argentino defeated Atenas on its own court 75-71.
