Valdez's double-double lands her Player of the Week award

28-year old forward Aylen Valdez (183-F-1997) had a very impressive game in the last round for league's best team Hindu Club de Resistencia and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 5.
She had a double-double of 15 points and 14 rebounds, while her team beat Chanares (#3, 4-3) 60-54. It allowed Hindu to take over top position in the Argentinian LaLiga Femenina. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Hindu already had a very good start winning all 6 without losing a single one. Valdez turned to be Hindu's top player in her first season with the team. Aylen Valdez averages this season 12.2ppg and 8.5rpg.

Second best performed player last round was Sofia Acevedo (167-PG-2001) of Club Deportivo de Berazategui Buenos Aires. She is a guard in her 2nd season at Berazategui. In the last game Acevedo recorded an impressive double-double of 23 points and 10 rebounds. Bad luck as Berazategui lost that game 70-80 to slightly lower-ranked El Bigua (#8, 1-4). This loss caused Berazategui to drop to 7th position in South. Her team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 2-4 record. Acevedo is well-known at Berazategui and she already established her position as one of the team's leaders.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Maria Jourdheuil (180-PF-1994) of El Bigua (#8). Jourdheuil scored 27 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. Despite Jourdheuil's great performance the El Bigua lost 70-86 to the higher-ranked Obras (#1, 5-1). But her team cannot count on just a single shooter as she also needs help of the other teammates. Jourdheuil has individually a great season in Argentina. After only 5 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 18.0ppg (2nd best) and rebounds with 14.2rpg (#1 in league).
