It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Union Florida. Obras made 23-of-30 free shots (76.7 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Union Florida 41-26 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. fired a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. The former international power forward Agostina Burani (186-1991) chipped in 9 points and 10 rebounds. Maria Martinez produced 8 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Obras have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Hindu and El Talar. Union Florida at the other side dropped to the fifth place with two games lost. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Stefania Lucero (172-1993, agency: BIG) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 39 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds. American guard Ashia McCalla (170-2000, college: UMBC, agency: Interperformances) answered with 11 points for San Jose. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. It was a great evening for Luciana Delabarba who led her team to a victory scoring 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. At the losing side Agustina Garcia responded with 21 points and 7 rebounds (made all of her twelve free throws !!!). Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for El Talar. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Obras and Hindu. Newly promoted El Bigua keeps the eighth place with five games lost. El Talar will meet Independiente (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. El Bigua will have a break next round.
