The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Buenos Aires: Obras (#2) and Ferro (#5). Ferro was defeated at home 81-86 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Ferro. Obras had a 29-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for power forward Valentino Finetti (204-2005) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. point guard Juan Respaud (190-2005) contributed with 22 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. answered with 14 points and 6 assists for Ferro. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Undefeated Obras (7-0) have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain second place with a perfect record of 7 victories in a row having just three point less than leader Instituto. Ferro at the other side keeps the fifth position with two games lost. They share it with Gimnasia.
San Martin's fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after six consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as they outplayed much higher ranked Argentino (3-5) 93-56. stepped up and scored 21 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and Valentino Saucedo chipped in 16 points. The best for the losing side was power forward Valentino Finetti (204-2005) with 18 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. San Martin (1-6) left bottom position moving up to eighteenth place, which they share with Olimpico. Argentino at the other side dropped to the eleventh position with five games lost. They share it with Boca Jrs..
A very close game took place in Almagra between Racing Ch. and San Lorenzo. Ninth ranked Racing Ch. (4-3) got a very close victory on the road over 4th placed San Lorenzo (5-3). Racing Ch. managed to escape with a 2-point win 70-68 on Wednesday evening. Diego Tonarelli nailed a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winning side. Valentino Nesci came up with 25 points and 9 rebounds for San Lorenzo in the defeat. The victory was the third consecutive win for Racing Ch.. They moved-up to seventh place. Loser San Lorenzo keeps the fourth position with three games lost.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 9: Independ.O. smashed Olimpico on the road 120-64. Quimsa was destroyed by Independ.O. on its own court 63-98. Obera unfortunately lost to Atenas in Cordoba 75-81. Union managed to beat Boca Jrs. at home 102-90.
The most impressive performance of 9th round was 21 points and 6 rebounds by Geronimo Ramallo of San Martin.




Olimpico - Independ.O. 64-120

No shocking result in a game when eleventh ranked Independ.O. (3-2) crushed 17th ranked Olimpico (1-6) in La Banda 120-64 on Monday. Independ.O. dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Olimpico's 28. Independ.O. forced 25 Olimpico turnovers and outrebounded them 55-32 including a 20-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. nailed a double-double by scoring 16 points and 18 rebounds for the winning side and Ecuadorian forward Carlos Hurtado (212-2006) accounted for 21 points and 14 rebounds. Five Independ.O. players scored in double figures. Lautaro Cerioni came up with 12 points and 6 rebounds and Valentino Saucedo added 13 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) respectively for Olimpico in the defeat. Olimpico's coach Jose Maria Gerez gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the third consecutive win for Independ.O.. They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Regatas. Loser Olimpico dropped to the eighteenth position with six games lost. They share it with San Martin.

Independ.O. dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Quimsa's 40. They outrebounded Quimsa 52-32 including a 36-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Independ.O. looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Ecuadorian forward Carlos Hurtado (212-2006) nailed a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winning side and accounted for 13 points and 13 rebounds. Four Independ.O. players scored in double figures. Romeo Amprimo came up with 10 points and 7 assists and guard Facundo Peralta (186) added 9 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Quimsa in the defeat. Quimsa's coach Mariano Marcos gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the third consecutive win for Independ.O..
