Lucero's 33-point game gives her Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

32-year old forward Stefania Lucero (172-F-1993, agency: BIG) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Deportivo Chanares and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 8.
She had the game-high 33 points adding eight rebounds and three assists for Chanares in her team's victory, helping them to edge out Instituto (#1, 7-2) 79-76. Chanares maintains the 3rd position in their group in the Argentinian LaLiga Femenina. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Chanares will need more victories to improve their 7-3 record. Lucero turned to be Chanares' top player in her first season with the team. Lucero has impressive league stats. She is league's best scorer averaging so far 22.4ppg. Lucero is in league's top in and averages solid 2.3spg and 53.4% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Aylen Valdez (183-F-1997) of league's second-best Hindu Club de Resistencia. She is a forward in her first season at Hindu. In the last game Valdez recorded an impressive double-double of 25 points and 14 rebounds. Of course she led Hindu to another comfortable win 70-56 over the lower-ranked Avellaneda (#5, 3-4) being unquestionably team leader. This victory allowed Hindu to move up to second position in North. Her team's 7-2 record is not bad at all. Valdez is a newcomer at Hindu and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to another Hindu's star - center Malvina D'Agostino (184-C-2001). D'Agostino scored 13 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Despite D'Agostino's great performance the Hindu Club de Resistencia lost 54-79 to #3 ranked Chanares. But her team cannot count on just these two top stars as they also need help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. D'Agostino has a great season in Argentina. After only 9 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 10.3rpg (5th best) and assists with 3.1apg (8th best). Malvina D'Agostino has also Argentinian passport and can play in the league with a status of domestic player.
