This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 11th ranked Obera (4-3) to first ranked Instituto (7-2) 70-68 on Monday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. 24 personal fouls committed by Obera helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Platense has finally registered their first victory this season after three consecutive losses. The win is especially important as they outplayed much higher ranked San Lorenzo (3-6) 101-78 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was Derrick Woods who scored 22 points and 5 rebounds. Facundo Rutenberg produced 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Platense (1-3) left bottom position moving up to eighteenth place. Loser San Lorenzo dropped to the fifteenth position with six games lost. Platense will meet higher ranked Racing Ch. (#14) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. San Lorenzo will play against Gimnasia in Comodoro Rivadavia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
