Argentinian LaLiga Femenina round 12 best performance: Sofia Acevedo

Point guard Sofia Acevedo (167-PG-2001) put on an amazing game in the last round for Club Deportivo de Berazategui Buenos Aires, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 12.
The 24-year old player was the main contributor (31 points, five rebounds and six assists) to her team's victory, helping them to outclass Ferro (#3, 7-3) with 30-point margin 79-49. Berazategui maintains the 4th position in their group in the Argentinian LaLiga Femenina. Berazategui is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 5-5 record. In the team's last game Acevedo had a remarkable 60.0% from 2-point range. It's her second year at Berazategui and it's hard to imagine this team without her. Third on the list of top players last round was guard Florencia Ortiz (160-PG-2000) of Riachuelo de La Rioja (#8). Ortiz showcased her all-around game by recording 16 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists in the last round. Despite Ortiz's great performance the Riachuelo lost 52-74 to slightly higher-ranked Avellaneda (#7, 4-7). But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates. Riachuelo can only dream about fighting for top spots in North. They have rather bad season and 3-9 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Ortiz has individually a great season in Argentina. After 12 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 15.1ppg (4th best) and assists with 4.8apg (3rd best).
