Cristian Amicucci claims Argentinian La Liga Argentina Hoops Agents weekly honour

Experienced Cristian Amicucci (200-F/C-1985) had a great game in the last round for Independiente BBC de Santiago del Estero and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents La Liga Argentina Player of the Week award for round 9.
The 40-year old power forward had a double-double of 29 points and 15 rebounds, while his team beat Santa Paula (#7, 3-2) 86-76. Independiente is placed at 16th position in Argentinian La Liga Argentina. The season is still in it's early stage, so the team may have a chance to improve their current position in the standings. They lost 4 games and had just one victory. It's Amicucci's second year at Independiente and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Amicucci has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (2nd best: 20.2ppg), rebounds (3rd best: 11.8rpg) and averages solid 61.9% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Venezuelan power forward Elian Centeno (200-PF-2000) of Club Atletico Villa San Martin. Centeno impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 14 points and 17 rebounds. Of course Villa S.Martin cruised to a 85-77 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Jujuy (#14, 1-2). This victory allowed Villa S.Martin to move up to 3rd position in Conferencia Norte. His team's 4-2 record is not bad at all. Centeno is a newcomer at Villa S.Martin and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was Bruno Conti (182-PG-2000) of Atletico Gorriti de Jujuy (#14). Conti showcased his all-around game by recording 29 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists in the last round. Despite Conti's great performance the Jujuy lost 77-85 to the higher-ranked Villa S.Martin (#3, 4-2). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Jujuy not to end season at such low position in Conferencia Norte, however are less than slim as they have already lost 2 games, recording just one victory. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Conti could try to bring Jujuy's a little bit higher in the standings. Conti has individually a great season in Argentina. After only 3 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 17.7ppg (8th best) and assists with 6.3apg (2nd best).
