Power forward Cristian Amicucci (200-F/C-1985) had a great game in the last round for Independiente BBC de Santiago del Estero, receiving a Hoops Agents La Liga Argentina Player of the Week award for round 14.
The 40-year old player had a double-double of 24 points and 13 rebounds, while his team beat Riojana (#14, 2-4) 90-80. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings in Conferencia Norte. Independiente maintains the 17th position in their group in the Argentinian La Liga Argentina. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked such low. They already lost 6 games and recorded just two victories. It's Amicucci's second year at Independiente and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Cristian Amicucci has solid league stats. He is in league's top in points (2nd best: 19.9ppg) and averages impressive 61.2% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young Manuel Alonso (195-PG-1999, agency: BIG) of Deportivo Norte de Armstrong. Alonso had a very good evening with 27 points and 8 rebounds. Bad luck as Dep Norte lost that game 60-66 to the higher-ranked Provincial (#4, 5-2). Dep Norte managed to keep the same 15th spot in Conferencia Sur. 6 lost games are too many comparing to just two victories Dep Norte managed to get this year. Alonso is a newcomer at Dep Norte, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.0ppg (#3). He also registered 5.9 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was forward Juan Bellozas (195-PF-1993) of Union de Mar del Plata (#16). Bellozas scored 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds (!!!). Despite Bellozas' great performance the U.Mar del Plata lost 72-76 to the higher-ranked Pico FC (#7, 3-2). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. U.Mar del Plata can only dream about fighting for top spots in Conferencia Sur. They have rather bad season and 2-8 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Bellozas has individually a great season in Argentina. After 10 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 9.4rpg (7th best). He also has 3.0spg and a FGP of 59.1%.
