Mateo Perez claims Argentinian La Liga Argentina Hoops Agents weekly honour

Mateo Perez (189-G-2002, agency: BIG) put on an amazing game in the last round for Centro Deportivo Rivadavia de Mendoza and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents La Liga Argentina Player of the Week award for round 22.
The 23-year old guard had the game-high 30 points adding nine rebounds and three assists for Rivadavia in his team's victory, helping them to beat Caroya (#13, 4-6) 82-76. The game was not the highest importance and did not have significant influence on top of the standings in Conferencia Norte. Rivadavia maintains the 9th position in their group in the Argentinian La Liga Argentina. Rivadavia is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 6-6 record. In the team's last game Perez had a remarkable 63.6% from 2-point range and got three three-pointers out of 7 attempts. He turned to be Rivadavia's top player in his first season with the team. Perez has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (7th best: 17.0ppg) and averages solid 58.9% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American Chance Hunter (198-SF-1998) of second-ranked Salta Basket. Hunter impressed basketball fans with 22 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists. It was enough for Salta Basket to edge the lower-ranked Suardi (#10, 5-6) by 4 points 84-80. This victory allowed Salta Basket to move up to second position in Conferencia Norte. His team's 8-4 record is not bad at all. Hunter is a newcomer at Salta Basket and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was American Maurice Walton (206-F-1998) of Bochas de Colonia Caroya (#13). Walton scored 23 points and grabbed 17 rebounds (!!!). Despite Walton's great performance the Caroya lost 76-82 to the higher-ranked Rivadavia (#9, 6-6). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Caroya ranking at the top of Conferencia Norte, however are very questionable as they have already lost 6 games, recording just four victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Walton could help Caroya to bring them higher in the standings. Walton has a great season in Argentina. After 10 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 9.5rpg (6th best).
