Eighteenth-ranked Atenas (3-15) was very close to win a game against first ranked Instituto (15-4) in Cordoba on Friday. Instituto managed to secure only one-point victory 62-61. However their fans expected much easier game. Instituto forced 22 Atenas turnovers. 24 personal fouls committed by Atenas helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for who saved his team from a defeat with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. contributed with 13 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Tiago Tomatis answered with 16 points and 6 rebounds for Atenas. Atenas' coach Lautaro Gonzalez tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Instituto have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 15-4 record. Atenas lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the eighteenth position with 15 games lost. Instituto are looking forward to face Argentino (#13) in Junin in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Atenas will have a break next round.

It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Obras. The best for the losing side was power forward Valentino Finetti (204-2005) with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Obras' coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Platense have a solid series of three victories in a row. Despite that victory Platense went down to seventh position due to points difference. Obras at the other side keeps the second place with two games lost. Platense will play against Gimnasia (#9) in Comodoro Rivadavia in the next round. Obras will play at home against Union (#12) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
The game between sixth ranked Ferro (10-5) and 17th ranked Boca Jrs (4-12) in Buenos Aires on Monday ended with biggest points difference. Ferro outscored guests from Buenos Aires 99-57. Mateo Cerruti nailed 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Martin Torriani came up with 7 points and 8 rebounds for Boca Jrs. in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Ferro maintains sixth place with 10-5 record. Boca Jrs. lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventeenth position with 12 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 21: San Martin was smashed by La Union on the road 88-58. Quimsa won against Olimpico on its own court 86-76. Argentino unfortunately lost to Racing Ch. in Chivilcoy 57-61. Regatas managed to beat San Martin at home 78-71.
The most impressive performance of 21th round was 9 points and 6 assists by Martin Gonzalez of Ferro.



Obras - Platense 75-81

No shocking result in a game when third ranked La Union (13-4) crushed 16th ranked San Martin (4-9) in Formosa 88-58 on Friday. La Union had a 35-22 advantage in offensive rebounds. Augusto Moresco nailed a double-double by scoring 21 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and Franco Gimenez (190) accounted for 18 points and 6 rebounds. Four La Union players scored in double figures. La Union's coach Felix Medina felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Dominican center Leonel Nunez (206-2004) came up with 16 points and 6 rebounds and added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively for San Martin in the defeat. La Union maintains third place with 13-4 record having just ten point less than leader Instituto. Loser San Martin keeps the sixteenth position with nine games lost. La Union will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. San Martin will play against Obera (#10) and hope to secure a win.

Romeo Amprimo nailed 21 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side and forward Patricio Cogliati (203-2006) accounted for 13 points and 14 rebounds.
