LaLiga Femenina Round 1 (Regular Season): Hindu defeat Bochas

The Regular Season in LaLiga Femenina just started. Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Bochas at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by Hindu 62-46. Hindu outrebounded Bochas 48-32 including a 37-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Valentina Galfrascoli who helped to win the game recording 13 points and 9 rebounds. point guard Melina Niz (165-2005, agency: BIG) contributed with 17 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Lucia Rincon answered with 11 points for Bochas. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hindu will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Bochas will play at home against Instituto and is hoping to win this game.
Another interesting game for Obras which played in Concepcion de Urug. against Rocamora. Obras had an easy win 82-65. The former international power forward Agostina Burani (186-1991) stepped up and scored 8 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and Florencia Chagas chipped in 15 points. Obras' coach Javier Ielmini allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side Florencia Losada (166-2010) responded with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Obras will play against Lanus on the road in the next round. Rocamora will play against El Talar to get more than just one victory in their record.
An interesting game was also a 31-point tough home loss of Gorriones in a game in Rio Cuarto versus undefeated Instituto 76-45. Giselle Botta nailed a double-double by scoring 19 points and 15 rebounds for the winning side. Instituto's coach Ignacio Correas felt very confident using entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Joaquina Gregorio came up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds for Gorriones in the defeat. Instituto will meet Bochas in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Gorriones will have a break next round.

In the last two games of round 1 winless El Bigua lost to undefeated Lanus on the road 72-74. Ferro won against El Bigua on its own court 75-70.
The most impressive performance of 1st round was 11 points and 8 rebounds by Pilar Carra of Ferro.

Lanus - El Bigua 74-72

There was a small surprise when Lanus edged at home El Bigua 74-72 on Saturday. Lanus forced 21 El Bigua turnovers. Guard Berenice Lopez (168-1999) nailed 30 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and forward Renata Scordo (185-2008) accounted for 4 points and 13 rebounds. Lanus' coach Nicolas Tilloy used entire bench in such tough game. The former international swingman Agustina Garcia (173-1996) came up with 24 points and 8 rebounds (made all of her eight free throws) and the former international Maria Jourdheuil (180-1994) added 6 points and 15 rebounds respectively for El Bigua in the defeat. Lanus will meet at home Obras in the next round. El Bigua will have a break next round.

There was a minor upset when El Bigua lost to Ferro in Buenos Aires 70-75 on Sunday. Pilar Carra nailed 11 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side and guard Abril Romagnoli (167-2003) accounted for 12 points and 6 rebounds. Ferro's coach Gabriel Fernandez used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The former international Maria Jourdheuil (180-1994) came up with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international swingman Agustina Garcia (173-1996) added 21 points respectively for El Bigua in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Ferro's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Buenos Aires to the arena Berazategui.
