Amicucci's double-double lands him La Liga Argentina Player of the Week award

40-year old power forward Cristian Amicucci (200-F/C-1985) had a great game in the last round for Independiente BBC de Santiago del Estero and receives a Hoops Agents La Liga Argentina Player of the Week award for round 29.
He had a double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds, while his team beat Las Heras (#16, 4-12) 85-73. Independiente is placed at 7th position in Argentinian La Liga Argentina. Independiente is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 9-8 record. It's Amicucci's second year at Independiente and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Amicucci has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (2nd best: 18.2ppg) and averages solid 62.8% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Gendry Correa (190-SG-1996) of Tomas de Rocamora. He is Venezuelan guard in his first season at Rocamora. In the last game Correa recorded an impressive 21 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists. Bad luck as Rocamora was edged by the higher-ranked Provincial (#1, 13-3) 75-73. Rocamora managed to keep the same 16th spot in Conferencia Sur. 11 lost games are too many comparing to just four victories Rocamora managed to get this year. Correa is a newcomer at Rocamora and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Lautaro Velazquez (201-F-2002) of Fusion Riojana (#10). Velazquez scored 20 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. He was a key player of Riojana, leading his team to a 87-83 win against the lower-ranked Suardi (#14, 6-9). The chances of Riojana ranking at the top of Conferencia Norte, however are very questionable as they have already lost 8 games, recording just seven victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Velazquez could help Riojana to bring them higher in the standings. Velazquez has a very solid season. In 15 games in Argentina he scored 8.7ppg.
