Argentinian LaLiga Femenina round 5 best performance: Delfina Alves

Power forward Delfina Alves (186-F/C-2008) had a very impressive game in the last round for Bochas, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 5.
The 17-year old player had a double-double of 19 points and 18 rebounds, while her team beat Gorriones (#15, 0-3), the league's bottom-ranked team 78-64. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings. Bochas is placed at 12th position in Argentinian LaLiga Femenina. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked such low. They already lost 3 games and recorded just one victory. In the team's last game Alves had a remarkable 71.4% from 2-point range. She just recently signed at Bochas, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Delfina Alves has solid league stats. She leads league in rebounds with 13.7rpg. Alves is in league's top in and averages impressive 1.3bpg,3.7spg and 77.3% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was Luna Cao of El Talar. Cao had a very good evening with 20 points and 8 rebounds. Of course she led El Talar to another comfortable win 73-60 over El Bigua (#18, 0-5) being unquestionably team leader. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. El Talar keeps 9th position. Her team lost some distance to top teams. But a 2-1 record is not bad and everything may still change. Cao is well-known at El Talar and is a proven leader in her second season with the team.

Third on the list of top players last round was international swingman Agustina Garcia (173-F/G-1996) of El Bigua (#18). Garcia scored 21 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Despite Garcia's great performance the El Bigua lost 60-73 to the higher-ranked El Talar (#9, 2-1). But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates. El Bigua can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have awful season losing so far all 5 games. Garcia has individually a great season in Argentina. After only 5 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 18.4ppg (3rd best).
