La Liga Argentina top team - Provincial (14-4) managed to deliver another win on Sunday. This time they beat sixth ranked Pico FC (10-6) in Rosario 98-87. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Pico FC. Provincial shot the lights out from three sinking 18 long-distance shots on high 56.3 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. It was a good game for Santiago Lopez Hoyo who led his team to a victory with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Uruguayan center Matias Acosta (200-1999) contributed with 20 points for the winners. American guard Latraius Mosley (198-1990, college: Life) answered with 21 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for Pico FC. Pico FC's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Provincial maintains first place with 14-4 record. Pico FC at the other side dropped to the fourth position with six games lost. They share it with Barrio Parque and Salta Basket. Provincial are looking forward to face Centenario VT (#7) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Pico FC will have a break next round.
Important game to mention about took place in . Twelfth ranked Rivadavia (8-9) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging higher ranked Jujuy (9-9) 73-72 on Sunday evening. American-Colombian Simon Hunt-Ramirez (201-1998, college: Sonoma St.) stepped up and scored 19 points and 7 rebounds (perfect behind the arc making all six shots !!!) for the winners and Mateo Perez chipped in 15 points and 5 assists. The best for the losing side was Ukrainian Andriy Grytsak (201-2000) with 15 points and 8 rebounds. Rivadavia moved-up to eleventh place. Jujuy at the other side keeps the eighth position with nine games lost. They share it with Independiente and Racing A.. Rivadavia will play against higher ranked Estudiantes T. (#6) in San Miguel de Tucuman in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Jujuy will have a break next round.
The game between 16th ranked Pergamino (5-14) and ninth ranked Racing A. (9-9) in Pergamino on Saturday ended with biggest points difference. Guests from Buenos Aires outscored Pergamino 76-54. Rafael Rosende nailed 24 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Racing A.'s coach Juan Boadaz felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Martin Gandoy came up with 14 points and 6 rebounds for Pergamino in the defeat. Racing A. moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Independiente and Jujuy. Pergamino lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the sixteenth position with 14 games lost. There were no big surprises in other games of round 33: Villa Mitre was beaten by Centenario VT on the road 92-84. GELP won against U.Mar del Plata on its own court 76-72. Suardi was outscored by Caroya in Colonia Caroya 88-69.
