Abraham Barahona claims Argentinian La Liga Argentina Hoops Agents weekly honour

Ecuadorian Abraham Barahona (195-SF-2003) had a great game in the last round for league's leader Provincial de Rosario and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents La Liga Argentina Player of the Week award for round 34.
The 22-year old had a double-double of 27 points and 10 rebounds, while his team beat Centenario VT (#7, 9-5) 84-73. It allowed Provincial to consolidate first place in the Argentinian La Liga Argentina. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Provincial has a very solid 15-4 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. In the team's last game Barahona had a remarkable 90.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be Provincial's top player in his first season with the team. Abraham Barahona averages this season 15.3ppg and 7.2rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American power forward Zondrick Garrett (203-F/C-2002, agency: Elevate Sports Alliance) of Centro Deportivo Rivadavia de Mendoza. Garrett impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 23 points and 12 rebounds. Bad luck as Rivadavia was edged by the higher-ranked Estudiantes T. (#6, 10-7) 82-81. Rivadavia managed to keep the same 11th spot in Conferencia Norte. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 8-11 record. Garrett is a newcomer at Rivadavia and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was Juan Luis Abeiro (200-C/F-1988) of Fusion Riojana (#15). Abeiro scored 26 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. Despite Abeiro's great performance the Riojana lost 75-93 to the higher-ranked Amancay (#1, 12-6). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Riojana not to end season at such low position in Conferencia Norte, however are less than slim as they have already lost 11 games, recording just seven victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Abeiro could try to bring Riojana's a little bit higher in the standings. Abeiro has individually a great season in Argentina. After 18 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 18.0ppg (3rd best).
