Gimenez's 32-point game gives him Player of the Week award

Franco Gimenez (190) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's best team La Union Formosa and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 27.
He had the game-high 32 points adding five rebounds and two assists for La Union in his team's victory, helping them to beat San Lorenzo (#8, 10-10) 95-85. It allowed La Union to consolidate first place in the Argentinian league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. La Union has a very solid 18-5 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. In the team's last game Gimenez had a remarkable four three-pointers out of 8 attempts. He turned to be La Union's top player in his first season with the team. Gimenez has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (3rd best: 19.7ppg) and averages solid 2.4spg and 59.7% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Elias Torrens (203-C-2008) of Obras Basket Buenos Aires U22 team. He is a center in his first season at Obras. In the last game Torrens recorded an impressive double-double of 23 points and 17 rebounds. Of course he led Obras to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Penarol (#14, 7-13) 74-54. Obras' 3rd position in the standings has not changed. His team lost just three games this season, while they won 17 matches. Torrens is a newcomer at Obras and despite he is not a team leader yet, every game he becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Tiago Drocezesky (193-G-2005) of Boca Juniors Buenos Aires (#18). Drocezesky showcased his all-around game by recording 25 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists in the last round. He was a key player of Boca Juniors, leading his team to a 83-76 win against the higher-ranked Quimsa (#15, 7-14). Boca Juniors can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 5-14 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Drocezesky has a very solid season. In 18 games in Argentina he scored 16.9ppg. He also has 6.2rpg, 3.7apg and a FGP of 58.3%.
