The most exciting game of round 35 in the La Liga Argentina took place in Centenario. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 7th ranked Centenario VT (9-6) to eighth ranked Lanus (10-7) 82-79 on Friday evening. Lanus looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American guard Robert Whitfield (190-1997, college: UMKC) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points and 4 assists. Swingman Joaquin Noblega (194-1997) contributed with 11 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Swingman Manuel Gomez (-1996) answered with 20 points and 9 assists for Centenario VT. Lanus have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Estudiantes T. Centenario VT at the other side dropped to the ninth position with six games lost. Lanus is looking forward to face Pergamino (#16) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Centenario VT will play against Quilmes (#5) in Mar del Plata and is hoping to win this game.
Very important is a road loss of third ranked C.Entrerriano (12-6) against ninth ranked Racing A. (10-10) on Friday night. Visiting C.Entrerriano was defeated by Racing A. in Buenos Aires 65-52. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of C.Entrerriano. It was a great evening for Venezuelan power forward Fernando Fuenmayor (201-2000) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds. Rafael Rosende helped adding 9 points and 8 rebounds. point guard Lautaro Pividori (184-2001) responded with 9 points and 5 rebounds. C.Entrerriano's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Racing A. moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Jujuy. C.Entrerriano at the other side dropped to the second position with six games lost. They share it with Quilmes and Amancay.
An interesting game was also surprising home defeat of 5th ranked Santa Paula in a game in Galvez versus Jujuy (#8) 98-92. It was an exceptional evening for Ramiro Stehli who led the winners and scored 19 points. Camilo Gomez came up with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for Santa Paula in the defeat. Santa Paula's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Jujuy (10-10) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Racing A. Santa Paula lost their third game in a row. They keep the fifth position with seven games lost.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 35: Jujuy was smashed by Colon on the road 89-67. Dep Viedma won against El Talar on its own court 83-66. Dep Norte unfortunately lost to La Union in Colon 72-80. Riojana recorded a loss to San Isidro at home 87-97. Caroya defeated Rivadavia on the opponent's court 82-73.
The most impressive performance of 35th round was 14 points and 18 rebounds by Zondrick Garrett of Rivadavia.



Colon SF - Jujuy 89-67

There was a surprise result when seventeenth ranked Colon (4-11) crushed higher ranked Jujuy (10-10) in Santa Fe 89-67 on Thursday. It was an exceptional evening for Hans Feder who led the winners and scored 20 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Joaquin Fernandez (189-2003) accounted for 21 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Colon SF's coach felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ukrainian Andriy Grytsak (201-2000) came up with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Francisco Tarnowyk (192-2001) added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Jujuy in the defeat. Four Colon and five Jujuy players scored in double figures. Colon maintains seventeenth place with 4-11 record. Loser Jujuy dropped to the seventh position with ten games lost. They share it with Racing A.. Colon will meet higher ranked Comunicaciones (#12) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Jujuy will have a break next round.

Dep Viedma - El Talar 83-66

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 12th ranked El Talar's (6-10) road loss to eleventh ranked Dep Viedma (8-9) in Rio Negro 66-83 on Friday. Dep Viedma dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to El Talar's 28. It was an exceptional evening for Jeffrey Merchant (197-1997) who led the winners and scored 19 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Luciano Caceres (180-2001) accounted for 14 points and 5 assists for the winning side. Four Dep Viedma players scored in double figures. Forward Tomas Verbauwede (198-1999) came up with 10 points and 8 rebounds and forward Facundo Sanz (197-1996, agency: BIG) added 11 points respectively for El Talar in the defeat. Dep Viedma moved-up to tenth place. Loser El Talar keeps the twelfth position with ten games lost. They share it with Villa Mitre. Dep Viedma will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. El Talar will play against Villa Mitre (#13) in Bahia Blanca and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Very predictable result when fifth ranked La Union (12-5) won against 17th ranked Dep Norte (4-17) in Colon 80-72 on Friday. La Union dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Dep Norte's 28. It was an exceptional evening for Bolivian forward Gonzalo Romero (196-1997) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds. Rodrigo Acuna (198-1995) accounted for 11 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Five La Union players scored in double figures. point guard Manuel Alonso (195-1999, agency: BIG) came up with 23 points and guard Juan Cruz Scacchi (195-2001) added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Dep Norte in the defeat. La Union keeps a position of league leader, which they share with San Isidro. Dep Norte lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the seventeenth place with 17 games lost. La Union will meet at home league's second-placed GELP in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Dep Norte will have a break next round.

Not a big story in a game when 15th ranked Riojana (7-12) lost at home to second ranked San Isidro (12-5) 97-87 on Friday. It was an exceptional evening for the former international swingman Julian Eydallin (195-2000) who led the winners and scored 10 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists.
