Argentinian LDB round 28 best performance: Elias Torrens

Center Elias Torrens (203-C-2008) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Obras Basket Buenos Aires U22 team, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 28.
The 17-year old player had a double-double of 21 points and 13 rebounds, while his team beat Platense (#6, 13-8) 80-66. Obras maintains the 3rd position in Argentinian LDB. They are still close to the very top. Obras would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 17-3 record. It was one of impressive evenings for Torrens as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Elias Torrens averages this season 7.4ppg and 5.6rpg.

The second best player in last round's games was Joaquin Capurro of Racing de Chivilcoy. Capurro had a very good evening with a double-double of 15 points and 14 rebounds. Of course he led Racing Ch. to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Olimpico (#19, 1-20) 115-61. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. But Racing Ch. managed to improve slightly their position in standings taking 11th place. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 10-12 record. Capurro is one of the most experienced players at Racing Ch. and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was guard Mateo Fessia (190-G-2008) of Boca Juniors Buenos Aires (#18). Fessia scored 26 points and grabbed 11 rebounds (!!!). Despite Fessia's great performance the Boca Juniors lost 80-81 to the higher-ranked Regatas (#4, 16-4). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Boca Juniors can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 5-14 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Fessia has a very solid season. In 13 games in Argentina he scored 13.5ppg. He also has 6.9rpg, 3.1apg and and 3PT: 40.7%.

9. Bautista Corsi) of Instituto - 20 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Viktor Bender (197-SG-2006) of Regatas - 20 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists
