Benjamin Herrera claims Argentinian La Liga Argentina Hoops Agents weekly honour

Benjamin Herrera (190-G-1999) put on an amazing game in the last round for Barrio Parque de Cordoba and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents La Liga Argentina Player of the Week award for round 37.
The 26-year old guard had the game-high 26 points adding nine rebounds for Barrio Parque in his team's victory, helping them to beat Hindu (#14, 7-12) 84-78. Barrio Parque maintains the 3rd position in their group in the Argentinian La Liga Argentina. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Barrio Parque will need more victories to improve their 12-6 record. In the team's last game Herrera had a remarkable 85.7% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Barrio Parque, through which he has constantly improved. Benjamin Herrera averages this season 9.1ppg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Venezuelan power forward Elian Centeno (200-PF-2000) of Club Atletico Villa San Martin. Centeno impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 16 points and 14 rebounds. Of course he led Villa S.Martin to another comfortable win 82-68 over the lower-ranked Colon SF (#17, 5-12) being unquestionably team leader. This victory allowed Villa S.Martin to move up to 7th position in Conferencia Norte. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 10-8 record is not bad and everything may still change. Centeno is a newcomer at Villa S.Martin and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was Diego Peralta (195-SF-1994) of top-ranked Amancay de La Rioja. Peralta scored 16 points and grabbed 14 rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Amancay, leading his team to a 93-89 win against the lower-ranked Riojana (#15, 7-13). Amancay confirms their top position in Conferencia Norte. Their record at this point is 14 victories and 6 lost games. Peralta has a very solid season. In 20 games in Argentina he scored 13.5ppg. He also has 5.9rpg and a FGP of 56.3%.
