Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Buenos Aires: Ferro (#5) and Berazategui (#4). Ferro (7-2) won against visiting Berazategui (6-3) 55-50. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Berazategui. It was a key game for the second position in the league. They outrebounded Berazategui 49-37 including 16 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was center Julia Fernandez (185-2004) who scored 11 points and 8 rebounds. The former international center Florencia Fernandez (189-1986) chipped in 6 points and 12 rebounds. Ferro's coach Gabriel Fernandez used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international forward Julieta Armesto (179-1994, agency: BIG) who recorded 11 points and 9 rebounds. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Obras. Berazategui at the other side dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. They share it with Instituto and El Talar. Ferro is looking forward to face Bigua (#13) in Neuquen in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Berazategui will have a break next round.
Bottom-ranked Riachuelo (0-8) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 84-66 loss to sixteenth ranked San Jose (2-7) in La Rioja. It was a good game for point guard Virginia Peralta (172-2006, agency: BIG) who led her team to a victory with 21 points and 6 rebounds. Renata Serangeli contributed with 17 points and 5 steals for the winners. point guard Florencia Ortiz (160-2000) answered with 26 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals for Riachuelo. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. San Jose moved-up to fifteenth place. Riachuelo at the other side still closes the standings with eight games lost. San Jose will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Riachuelo will play at home against Quimsa (#8) and hopes to get finally their first victory.

Worth to mention a quality performance of Nija Collier who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 18 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Julieta Ibarra with 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Union Florida moved-up to ninth place. Independiente lost third consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with six games lost. Union Florida will meet Lanus (#16) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Independiente will play against El Talar (#7) and hope to secure a win.

In the last two games of round 15 Bochas was crushed by Instituto in Cordoba 64-42. El Talar beat Lanus at home 65-54.

Instituto - Bochas 64-42

There was no surprise in Cordoba where 14th ranked Bochas (3-6) was crushed by eighth ranked Instituto (6-3) 64-42 on Tuesday. Instituto held Bochas to an opponent 24.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 28.0 percent accuracy of the winners. Instituto forced 26 Bochas turnovers and outrebounded them 58-32 including a 22-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for Maria Villar who led her team to a victory scoring 13 points and 9 rebounds. point guard Julieta Sienra (161-2003) helped adding 10 points and 5 assists. The best for the losing side was power forward Delfina Alves (186-2008) with 4 points and 9 rebounds and Renata Niveyro scored 6 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Instituto moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Berazategui and El Talar. Loser Bochas keeps the fourteenth position with six games lost. Instituto will meet at home higher ranked Hindu (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Bochas will play against Avellaneda (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Union Florida - Independiente 83-52

The game with biggest result difference took place in Florida. Local Union Florida (5-4) outscored 11th ranked Independiente (4-6) 83-52 on Tuesday night. Union Florida made 26-of-31 free shots (83.9 percent) during the game. Union Florida outrebounded Independiente 53-29 including a 40-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a quality performance of American swingman Nija Collier (183-1999, college: Central Mo.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 18 rebounds. The former international forward Carla Miculka (174-1993) helped adding 17 points and 6 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). El Talar - Lanus 65-54

No shocking result in a game in Caba where seventh ranked El Talar (6-3) defeated 15th ranked Lanus (2-8) 65-54 on Tuesday. El Talar outrebounded Lanus 48-30 including a 35-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for Luna Cao who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 18 rebounds. Venezuelan Aguehil Fajardo (183-1999) helped adding 11 points and 11 rebounds. Four El Talar players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was guard Berenice Lopez (168-1999) with 21 points and power forward Camila Peri (182-2000) scored 4 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. El Talar have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Berazategui and Instituto. Loser Lanus dropped to the sixteenth position with eight games lost. El Talar will meet Independiente (#11) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Lanus will play against Union Florida (#9) and hope to secure a win.
