Nija Collier claims Argentinian LaLiga Femenina weekly honour

American Nija Collier (183-G/F-1999) had a very impressive game in the last round for Club Union Florida and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 15.
The 26-year old swingman had a double-double of 18 points and 18 rebounds, while her team outclassed Independiente (#11, 4-6) with 31-point margin 83-52. The game was not the highest importance and did not have significant influence on top of the standings. Union Florida is placed at 9th position in Argentinian LaLiga Femenina. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Union Florida will need more victories to improve their 5-4 record. Collier just recently signed at Union Florida, being already a very valuable addition to the team. University of Central Missouri graduate has very impressive stats this year. Collier is in league's top in rebounds (4th best: 10.8rpg) and averages solid 57.1% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was Luna Cao of El Talar. Cao impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 11 points and 18 rebounds. Of course El Talar cruised to a 65-54 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Lanus (#16, 2-8). This victory allowed El Talar to move up to 6th position in the standings. Her team lost some distance to top teams. But a 6-3 record is not bad and everything may still change. Cao is well-known by El Talar fans and she already established her position as one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was Virginia Peralta (172-PG-2006, agency: BIG) of Club Union Deportiva San Jose (#15). Peralta scored 21 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. She was a key player of San Jose, leading her team to a 84-66 easy win against Riachuelo (#18, 0-8). San Jose can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 2-7 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Peralta has a very solid season. In 9 games in Argentina she scored 11.0ppg.
