Barahona's 22 points and 9 rebounds give him La Liga Argentina Player of the Week award

22-year old Ecuadorian Abraham Barahona (195-SF-2003) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's best team Provincial de Rosario and receives a Hoops Agents La Liga Argentina Player of the Week award for round 41.
He had the game-high 22 points adding nine rebounds and four assists for Provincial in his team's victory, helping them to crush Quilmes (#5, 13-9) with 17-point margin 89-72. It allowed Provincial to consolidate first place in the Argentinian La Liga Argentina. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Provincial has a very solid 18-5 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. Barahona turned to be Provincial's top player in his first season with the team. Abraham Barahona averages this season 14.7ppg and 7.2rpg.

Second best performed player last round was Emanual Shepherd (203-F/C-1995) of Pergamino Basket. He is Canadian forward in his first season at Pergamino. In the last game Shepherd recorded an impressive double-double of 28 points and 15 rebounds. Bad luck as Pergamino was edged by the higher-ranked U.Mar del Plata (#12, 8-14) 88-86. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the top position in Conferencia Sur. Pergamino keeps 16th position. 19 lost games are too many comparing to just five victories Pergamino managed to get this year. Shepherd is a newcomer at Pergamino and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Zondrick Garrett (203-F/C-2002, agency: Elevate Sports Alliance) of Centro Deportivo Rivadavia de Mendoza (#11). Garrett scored 22 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Despite Garrett's great performance the Rivadavia lost 68-83 to the higher-ranked Santa Paula (#4, 14-7). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Rivadavia ranking at the top of Conferencia Norte, however are very questionable as they have already lost 13 games, recording just ten victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Garrett could help Rivadavia to bring them higher in the standings. Garrett has a very solid season. In 23 games in Argentina he scored 12.9ppg. He also has 7.3rpg, 1.7bpg and a FGP of 63.9%.
