Augusto Moresco claims Argentinian LDD Hoops Agents weekly honour

Augusto Moresco) put on an amazing game in the last round for La Union Formosa and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 32.
The had the game-high 19 points adding eight rebounds and four assists for La Union in his team's victory, helping them to beat San Martin (#14, 9-15) 73-63. La Union maintains the 3rd position in Argentinian LDD. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. La Union will need more victories to improve their 20-6 record. It's Moresco's second year at La Union and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Augusto Moresco averages this season 15.0ppg and 7.3rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was Tiago Tomatis of Atenas Cordoba. Tomatis impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 32 points and 10 rebounds. Bad luck as Atenas was edged by the higher-ranked Union (#12, 9-13) 111-107. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Atenas keeps 17th position. 18 lost games are too many comparing to just seven victories Atenas managed to get this year. Tomatis is one of the most experienced players at Atenas and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 23.8ppg (#1). He also registered 6.8 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was Colombian Edwin Niebles (178-PG-2005) of Obera Tennis Club (#11). Niebles scored 18 points and grabbed 16 rebounds (!!!). Despite Niebles' great performance the Obera lost 68-74 to the higher-ranked San Lorenzo (#8, 12-10). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Obera ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 14 games, recording just ten victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Niebles could help Obera to bring them higher in the standings. Niebles has a great season in Argentina. After 23 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 10.5rpg (3rd best).
