The most exciting game of round 35 in the La Liga took place in Buenos Aires. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 8th ranked Instituto (14-12) to fourth ranked Ferro (15-7) 76-75 on Tuesday evening. Very important is a home loss of second ranked Regatas (15-8) against seventh ranked La Union (15-11) on Wednesday night. Host Regatas was defeated by La Union in a tough game in Corrientes 67-73. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Regatas. Power forward Sebastian Acevedo (200-1990) orchestrated the victory by scoring 13 points and 8 rebounds. Windi Graterol contributed with 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Spanish-Colombian power forward Juan Tello-Palacios (206-1985) answered with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds for Regatas. Regatas' coach Juan Manuel Varas rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. La Union moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Gimnasia. Regatas at the other side dropped to the third position with eight games lost. La Union will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Regatas will play at home against Penarol and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Bottom-ranked Argentino managed to get the second consecutive victory on Tuesday night. This time they won against fifteenth-ranked Platense in Florida 94-81. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Platense. It was a great evening for Jeremias Sandrini who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Cesar Jara responded with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Platense's coach Martin Yanguela tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Argentino maintains nineteenth place with 5-20 record. Loser Platense keeps the fifteenth position with 13 games lost. Argentino will meet at home higher ranked Racing Ch. (#18) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Platense will play against Boca Juniors in Buenos Aires and hope to secure a win.
