Matias Acosta claims Argentinian La Liga Argentina Hoops Agents weekly honour

Uruguayan Matias Acosta (200-C-1999) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's second-best Provincial de Rosario and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents La Liga Argentina Player of the Week award for round 47.
The 26-year old center had a double-double of 24 points and 10 rebounds, while his team beat GELP (#5, 16-9) 91-82. Provincial was forced-out from the top positions in Argentinian La Liga Argentina. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Provincial will need more victories to improve their 19-7 record. In the team's last game Acosta had a remarkable five three-pointers out of 6 attempts. He turned to be Provincial's top player in his first season with the team. Matias Acosta averages this season 14.9ppg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Juan Luis Abeiro (200-C/F-1988) of Fusion Riojana. Abeiro impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 30 points and 10 rebounds. It was enough for Riojana to edge the higher-ranked Estudiantes T. (#9, 12-11) by 4 points 95-91. The third best performed player last round was Ecuadorian Joseph Caicedo (196-F-2004) of Santa Paula de Galvez (#6). Caicedo got into 30-points club by scoring exactly 30 points in the last round. He went also for six rebounds . Despite Caicedo's great performance the Santa Paula lost 101-105 to Suardi (15-11). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Santa Paula needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams in the Conferencia Norte. Their record is 15 victories and 11 lost games. Caicedo has a very solid season. In 26 games in Argentina he scored 7.6ppg.
