The most important game in the last round took place in Santa Fe between third ranked La Union (21-7) and thirteenth ranked Union (10-14) on Tuesday night. La Union was defeated by Union on the road 90-78. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of La Union. The best player for the winners was Pablo Spies who scored 29 points. Agustin Ferrari (-2005) chipped in 16 points. At the other side the best for losing team was Enzo Maglietti who recorded 19 points and 5 rebounds. Union maintains thirteenth position with 10-14 record. La Union at the other side keeps the third place with seven games lost. Union are looking forward to face higher ranked Platense (#6) in Florida in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. La Union will play at home against Ferro and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
We should mention about the upset which took place in Junin, where higher ranked Independ.O. (15-10) lost to eighteenth ranked Argentino (8-19) in a road game 58-73. It was a good game for naturalized Italian swingman Juan Cangelosi (198-1981) who led his team to a victory with 30 points and 6 rebounds. Santiago Bilbao contributed with 7 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Argentino's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Worth to mention a great performance of Juan Ryzwaniuk (-2005) who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 9 rebounds and guard Ulises Martorell (198-2006) who added 12 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Ferro's coach Juan Di Gilio used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was Joaquin Capurro with 19 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 7 steals and Tomas Delia scored 23 points and 6 rebounds.
