Calderon's 41-point game gives him La Liga Argentina Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

Santiago Calderon (190) had an amazing evening in the last round for Club Sportivo Suardi and receives a Hoops Agents La Liga Argentina Player of the Week award for round 51.
He had the game-high 41 points adding four rebounds and two assists for Suardi in his team's victory, helping them to edge out Comunicaciones (#11, 12-14) 102-101. Suardi is placed at 3rd position in Argentinian La Liga Argentina. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Suardi will need more victories to improve their 19-11 record. In the team's last game Calderon had a remarkable eight three-pointers out of 18 attempts. It's his second year at Suardi and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Calderon has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (9th best: 16.0ppg).

Second best performed player last round was Sebastian Mignani (185-G-1990) of Deportivo Norte de Armstrong. He is naturalized Italian guard in his first season at Dep Norte. In the last game Mignani recorded an impressive 15 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. Of course Dep Norte cruised to a 80-72 relatively comfortable win over the higher-ranked U.Mar del Plata (#12, 11-19). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the top position in Conferencia Sur. Dep Norte keeps 16th position. 22 lost games are too many comparing to just six victories Dep Norte managed to get this year. Mignani is a newcomer at Dep Norte and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Erick Mecias (194-SG-2003) of Ciclista Juninense (#13). Mecias scored 23 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. He was a key player of Ciclista, leading his team to a 89-83 win against the higher-ranked Centenario VT (#10, 13-12). The chances of Ciclista not to end season at such low position in Conferencia Sur, however are less than slim as they have already lost 18 games, recording just ten victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Mecias could try to bring Ciclista's a little bit higher in the standings. Mecias has a very solid season. In 24 games in Argentina he scored 10.5ppg.
