Albano Costa claims Argentinian LDD Hoops Agents weekly honour

Talented Albano Costa (192-G-2006) had an amazing evening in the last round for Obera Tennis Club and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 36.
The 19-year old guard had a double-double of 25 points and 14 rebounds, while his team beat Quimsa (#12, 11-16) 73-68. The game was not the highest importance and did not have significant influence on top of the standings. Obera is placed at 9th position in Argentinian LDD. Obera is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 13-14 record. In the team's last game Costa had a remarkable 55.6% from 2-point range. It's his second year at Obera and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Costa has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (5th best: 19.1ppg) and averages solid 59.1% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Venezuelan center Jesus Centeno (205-C-2006) of Gimnasia y Esgrima Comodoro Rivadavia. Centeno impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 25 points and 11 rebounds. Of course Gimnasia cruised to a 82-72 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked San Martin (#15, 9-19). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. But Gimnasia managed to improve slightly their position in standings taking 11th place. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 12-16 record. Centeno is a newcomer at Gimnasia and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was Italian Juan Cangelosi (198-F/G-1981) of Argentino Junin (#16). Cangelosi got into 30-points club by scoring exactly 30 points in the last round. He went also for six rebounds . He was a key player of Argentino, leading his team to a 73-58 easy win against the higher-ranked Independ.O. (#7, 15-11). Argentino can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 8-19 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Cangelosi has a very solid season. In 25 games in Argentina he scored 9.0ppg. He also has a FGP of 55.7% and 3PT: 40.8%. Juan Cangelosi has also Argentinian passport and can play in the league with a status of domestic player.
