Bryan Carabali claims Argentinian La Liga Hoops Agents weekly honour

Ecuadorian Bryan Carabali (214-C-1999) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Gimnasia y Esgrima Comodoro Rivadavia and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 38.
The 26-year old center had a double-double of 10 points and 11 rebounds, while his team beat Regatas (#10, 15-12) 79-73. Gimnasia is placed at 3rd position in Argentinian La Liga. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Gimnasia will need more victories to improve their 18-11 record. It was one of impressive evenings for Carabali as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Bryan Carabali averages this season 8.1ppg and 6.2rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American shooting guard Dylan Smith (196-SG-1997) of Argentino Junin. Smith impressed basketball fans with 26 points and 4 assists. Bad luck as Argentino lost that game 83-95 to the higher-ranked Independ.O. (#1, 18-8). Argentino are still at the very bottom. 21 lost games are too many comparing to just six victories Argentino managed to get this year. Smith is a newcomer at Argentino and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. University of Arizona alumni Smith played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas.

The third best performed player last round was another Argentino's star - American Dana Tate Jr. (201-F-1999, agency: WP Sports Agency). Tate Jr. scored 18 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. Despite Tate Jr.'s great performance the Argentino Junin lost 83-95 to the higher-ranked Independ.O. (#1, 18-8). But his team cannot count on just these two top stars as they also need help of the other teammates. Argentino can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have extremely bad season and 6-21 record places them at the very bottom of the standings. Tate Jr. has a very solid season. In 18 games in Argentina he scored 14.4ppg. He also has 6.0rpg and a FGP of 62.0%.
