Woods' 22 points give him Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

29-year old American forward Derrick Woods (203-F-1996, agency: SLN) had a great game in the last round for Club Atletico Platense Florida and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 39.
He had the game-high 22 points adding three rebounds for Platense in his team's victory, helping them to beat Union SF (11-16) 93-88. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings. Platense is placed at 14th position in Argentinian league. Platense is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 11-16 record. This loss caused Olimpico to drop to 16th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 11-18 record. Ascanio is a newcomer at Olimpico and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Al Thornton (203-F-1983, agency: BIG) of Penarol Mar del Plata (#10). Thornton scored 21 points and grabbed 13 rebounds (!!!). Despite Thornton's great performance the Penarol lost 71-79 to the lower-ranked San Lorenzo (#15, 11-17). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Penarol needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 15 victories and 14 lost games. Thornton has a very solid season. In 27 games in Argentina he scored 13.3ppg.
